The Soap Box Derby® began in 1933 when Dayton, Ohio newsman Myron Scott discovered a group of boys racing homemade cars and turned it into a national program. What started as a local pastime has grown into a beloved global tradition, celebrated today as the "Greatest Amateur Racing Event in the World®" across nine decades. Soap Box Derby came to GET Media needing event photography and a documentary capturing the spirit and history of the competition.
